Air cargo tracking
Track air freight across the world’s cargo airlines from one box. Paste an air waybill number — TrackJet detects the format, reads the airline prefix and routes you to the carrier’s official cargo tracker. Where a licensed feed is available it builds a source-labelled timeline; elsewhere it is honest that it is routing only, and never invents events.
Two ways to start
- By air waybill number — the 11-digit MAWB (3-digit prefix + 8-digit serial). The format and check digit are covered in the MAWB tracking guide.
- By airline — if you only know the carrier, open its page from the directory below to see its prefix, official tracker and an example number.
Cargo airlines (166 active)
TrackJet’s directory covers 166 active air-cargo airlines, each with its real IATA prefix and official tracking surface. A sample (every prefix is real):
| Prefix | Airline |
|---|---|
| 014 | Air Canada Cargo |
| 044 | Aerolineas Argentinas Cargo |
| 093 | Air Cairo Cargo |
| 094 | Aerologic Cargo |
| 124 | Air Algerie Cargo |
| 139 | AeroMexico Cargo |
| 212 | Air Astana Cargo |
| 322 | Aegean Cargo |
| 832 | ABX Air |
| 873 | AeroUnion (Avianca Cargo México) |
| 996 | Air Europa Cargo |
| 999 | Air China Cargo |
What the status codes mean
Airlines report milestones with IATA Cargo-IMP codes such as RCS (received from shipper), DEP (departed), RCF (received from flight) and DLV (delivered). They mark events, not a live position. The full list is in the MAWB guide.
Live data, honestly
Live event feeds are licensed per carrier. Today the licensed live feed is DHL UTAPI; every other carrier is routing-only — TrackJet detects the number and links you to the official surface. When an event is shown, it carries its source. TrackJet never fabricates carrier events and does not bypass carrier protections.
For developers
A read-only REST API and a public Model Context Protocol (MCP) server expose detection, carrier lookup and routing for air cargo and the other verticals. See the developer docs and the MCP guide.
FAQ
- How do I track air cargo?
- Paste the air waybill number (3-digit airline prefix + 8-digit serial, e.g. 020-12345675). TrackJet detects the format, identifies the airline from the prefix and routes you to its official cargo tracker; where a licensed feed exists it builds a source-labelled timeline.
- Can I track by airline prefix?
- The prefix tells you the airline (020 is Lufthansa Cargo, 176 Emirates SkyCargo). It is the first 3 digits of every MAWB that airline issues. Our airline directory lists the active cargo prefixes.
- Do you have live air-cargo events?
- Live event feeds are licensed per carrier. Today the licensed live feed is DHL UTAPI; every other carrier is routing-only — TrackJet detects and links you to the official surface. We never invent events.
- Is there an API for air-cargo tracking?
- Yes — a read-only REST API and a public MCP server expose detection, routing and carrier lookup. See the developer docs linked below.
