Frequently Asked Questions
v1 ·
- Do you actually track my shipment?
- Both, depending on the carrier and the source. TrackJet always detects the format and routes you to the carrier's official tracking surface. Where a licensed carrier feed (today: DHL Group), a user-authorised email import, or a TrackJet-managed observation is available, it also builds a source-labelled, verifiable timeline. Every event is labelled with its source, and TrackJet never fabricates carrier events.
- Do you store my tracking numbers?
- We hash them with a daily-rotating salt for aggregated statistics. The hash cannot be reversed to recover the original after 24 h.
- Is TrackJet free?
- Yes — public tracking (detect, route and the official carrier link) is free and needs no account. A free account adds saved shipments (up to 20) and status-change email alerts. Paid tiers (Plus, Pro, Business) raise those limits and unlock the API and the advanced widget. Billing is OFF during early access — no card is taken and nothing is charged; the 7-day Pro trial is real and free. Minimal display ads, shown only after consent, help fund the free tier.
- Do you support carrier X?
- TrackJet covers 5 verticals — air cargo, ocean container, bill of lading, post and parcel — with 331 production routing directory entries, 222 active public tracking surfaces, 166 active air-cargo airlines and a 1,669-entry research catalog for detection. Live carrier events are available today from DHL Group; everything else routes you to the carrier's official surface. See /track for the universal entry, or each vertical: /airlines, /container, /bol, /post, /parcel. Contact us to request a missing carrier.
- Why does this carrier show "search page only"?
- That carrier does not expose a public deep-link URL — only a search form. We never fabricate URLs. We show their canonical search page and you paste the number there.
- Where are you based?
- TrackJet is operated by Trackjet. Servers in Germany.
- Is my saved-shipment list private?
- It depends where you save it. Signed out, your "my TrackJet" list lives only in your browser's localStorage — we never receive it. Signed in, you can save shipments to your account (stored on our EU servers) to enable live tracking and status-change email alerts; alerts require an account and a verified email. You can export or delete your data at any time.
- Do you track me across sessions?
- No. We use no tracking cookies. We do not have a per-user identifier. An anonymous session id is derived server-side from a daily-rotating hash and is mathematically uncorrelatable cross-day.
- Which carriers have live events inside TrackJet today?
- Today, DHL Group (via the licensed DHL UTAPI) contributes real carrier events to TrackJet timelines. For every other carrier, TrackJet detects the number and routes you to the carrier's official tracking surface — or builds a timeline from your own forwarded status emails (user-authorised import). Every event carries a source label, and TrackJet never fabricates carrier events.
- Does TrackJet have an API or MCP server?
- Yes. A public, read-only MCP server (12 tools) lets AI agents detect numbers, look up carriers and resolve tracking surfaces — no key required. The REST + GraphQL API needs an API key you create in your account; webhooks and a sandbox are included. Commercial billing is in early access and OFF today. Rate limits apply per surface (public site, public MCP, API key). See /developers.
